**UPDATE: Climb Day! We only need to raise $255 more to get an additional $4000 in matching donations. We are so close - please share!!**
**UPDATE: Exciting news! We have two anonymous donors that will match up to $2000 in donations made beginning July 1. This could be a potential of $6000 in additional donations (exceeding our goal!)!! Let’s do this…please share with all your friends!**
Hello friends and family,
On July 27, 2024 we (Kevin, Erik, Dan and Alex) will be completing The Good Climb Endurance Challenge (https://www.thegoodclimb.com), a five-hour endurance challenge for athletes of all ages and abilities. There are 3-course routes to get to the top of the mountain at Holimont Ski Club, where you take a chairlift ride down to the bottom and do it all over again! Our goal is to raise money and awareness for a very important charity - the PURA Syndrome Foundation.
A close family friend of the Roche's and Mundy's have a son with PURA Syndrome, which was first described in medical literature in 2014. To date there are around 630 children and adults diagnosed worldwide. It is characterized by a number of signs and symptoms, including intellectual disability, speech difficulties, motor delays and increased risk of seizures. You can learn more about PURA Syndrome and the Foundation below.
So many families are affected by PURA Syndrome and there is so much more research needed to be done. Any dollar amount given will go directly to support the PURA Syndrome Foundation and its mission, and will go a long way to helping all of these families...including our buddy Owen!
For fun & motivation, our team would like to hear everyone's prediction as to how many laps you think we will complete! (Kevin completed 14 last year and was 18th out of 183 participants!) Please add your prediction to the donation comments and send our team an encouraging word!
Thank you for taking the time to read this and considering a donation to the PURA Syndrome Foundation.
Kevin Roche, Erik Mundy, Dan Mertz and Alex Caratelli
