As Co-Lead for Buffalo Team of The Street Dog Coalition (SDC), we reach out to human service organizations to see if we can assist the pets of unhoused people in order to keep families together. However, sometimes people and pets serendipitously find us. I recently attended our local Give716 event and on the way home, saw Timmy and his canine companion CeCe set up on a nearby street. I stopped to chat a bit and learned that CeCe prefers a particular type of canned food and that Timmy very much wanted to obtain spay surgery and vaccines for CeCe and her puppy. He explained that he obtained CeCe from a challenging environment. CeCe demonstrated "shake" and "sit" as Timmy spent a lot of time teaching her these actions. The affection Timmy and CeCe had toward each other was very apparent. They deserve and need to be together. The Buffalo Team of the SDC collaborated with multiple community partners to arrange for CeCe and her puppy to obtain spay surgery and other preventive care services, including vaccinations. Dr. Wheeler and Julie arranged payment to the spay/neuter clinic through SDC's office. Because SDC exists, the Buffalo Team was truly able to help Timmy, CeCe, and her puppy. For this, I am extremely grateful. Please help me raise funds for this amazing organization!
