I connected with Tara via Instagram before the days of Debriefing the Front Lines and have always been impressed with not only her initiatives, but the amount of love, care, and selflessness she puts into the work she does. She is truly a blessing to those around her and I am honored to be able to help her raise funds for the work she and her colleagues do through Debriefing the Front Lines!
I have been a nurse for 13 years. As I have watched the work that DTFL is doing, I wonder how different my career path would have been in my early days of nursing had I been a recipient of their care. I was suffering from Cumulative Caretaking Trauma in a big way; I was a mother to three very young daughters all two years apart and working as floor and charge nurse in a hospital here in Las Vegas, and to say I was burned out is a massive understatement. Had I been supported by someone who knew firsthand what I was dealing with (and who could guide me as I navigated my healing process), I may have remained at the bedside longer. Granted, I do not regret the twists and turns my career path has taken (it has been quite an adventure!!), but I look back and see how crucial the care is that DTFL provides to those who are treading the same path I did.
Because I know how hard it can be to be a nurse (especially in a hospital setting), I am using my voice to help raise funds for DTFL for the 2023 giving season. Every $50 donated provides one scholarship-based debriefing session to a nurse in need! I am asking for donations of all sizes, but for those of you who are able to donate $25 or more, I will happily gift you a pair of Ruby compression socks as a thank you for your generosity. (Please click on the link in my bio, donate the amount you are able to give, and send me a screen shot of your donation.) Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity!
