As many of you know, my professional background is in critical care nursing—primarily patients with heart or lung disease. I am not currently working as a nurse, but I will never stop advocating for the profession. Nurses need more support than ever, as they speak out for safe staffing and support for their own wellbeing.
When I learned about DTFL in 2021, I had just passed the one year mark of not being at the bedside— this was by choice but I was struggling with what my new identity was. Supporting DTFL gave a great sense of purpose and connection to nurses that I was missing.
