Julie Reif's Story
I have joined this fundraiser, because I feel very passionate in my heart about helping other nurses who have suffered stress and trauma from working under the conditions that most nurses do. I myself suffered extreme burnout after Covid from working in the ICU and watching so many people die. I didn’t believe that I was burnt out but I didn’t understand why I was feeling the way I did. I was the strong one. I was the charge nurse. I was the one that was always there for everyone, but ended up not being able to be there for myself. I feel that debriefing the front lines is moving in a direction that is going to be able to help many nurses work through these feelings without having to hit rock-bottom and quit their jobs. I hope to raise enough money to be able to provide scholarships for those nurses who are unable to provide for their selves .
