Hello! My name is Carter Chapman, and I am the Team Operations Manager for Bike4Alz Team 13. I am from Louisville, Kentucky, and a sophomore at WKU majoring in Accounting with a minor in Economics. On campus, I am the current Treasurer of Phi Gamma Delta - Chi Eta, a Gordon Ford College of Business Ambassador, and a proud member of ODK.
I first learned about Bike4Alz when I joined the fraternity, and it immediately caught my interest. I got involved as soon as I could by helping Team 12 prepare and fundraise for their ride, and from that I knew I wanted to be on Team 13. The most personal connection I have to Alzheimer’s disease and dementia is through my grandmother, who passed away in 2020 after battling Parkinson’s disease for many years. Although Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s are different diseases, both can lead to dementia and cognitive decline. I witnessed her physical and mental struggles over the time I knew her, and that is what fuels my passion for Bike4Alz and this mission. I’m eager to connect with others through their shared experiences and passion for ending Alzheimer’s/dementia. I know that so many people across the country have been affected by this terrible disease, and I want to hear their stories. I hope our team can be a light in their lives and that from them we can learn more about why we ride. #ENDALZ
