What’s up! My name is John King and I am from a small town in Kentucky named Bardstown. I am in my senior year here at WKU, and I am pursuing a major in Sports Psychology with a minor in American Sign Language. My role on Bike4Alz this year is Secretary/Webmaster -- a role that I am stoked to fulfill. Currently, I am a member of the Student Government Association, Phi Gamma Delta, and the American Sign Language Organization. In addition, I work at a psychiatric hospital, am a volunteer wrestling coach for the county school system, and also serve as a Research Assistant for the CAR Lab in the psychology department. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, thrifting, and spending time with my friends.
I first learned of Bike4Alz when I was going through fraternity rush my Sophomore year at Western and, from that moment on, I knew it was something that I needed to be a part of. I have always been scared to forget the memories I have made in my life, which in-turn has given me a deep-seeded passion for helping those who suffer from it in any way that I am able to. I am incredibly excited to learn more about the disease, how I can best serve those who are affected by it, and learn more about myself through the process. I am remarkably grateful for the opportunity to do this and I look forward to the journey ahead!
