I retired in 2023 after more than 25 years as a public servant. One of the aspects of my career that always meant the most to me was being of service to others. During the height of the pandemic I participated in a number of food drives and helped distribute boxes of food to families facing food insecurity. The lines of cars stretched multiple blocks with people desperate for food. Every single event was the same — there were far more people in need than there were boxes to distribute. It was heartbreaking. Since that time I have been a regular contributor to several of the charities that this event will benefit.

I discovered knitting in 2023, right when I retired, and found a true passion. Although I’m a newer knitter, I’m ALL IN. I’m grateful to have found a creative outlet that feeds my soul. I’ve learned very quickly how big-hearted the fiber community is and I’m so excited to use my knitting needles to be of service in this way. I hope that you’ll consider donating, knowing that every penny earned will help others facing food insecurity. Thank you!
