Accessibility statement

Accessibility is central to Givebutter's mission, and we are committed to growing our digital accessibility for people with disabilities. Toward this goal, we've implemented several features to support people with various disabilities:

  • Alt text for images on our website
  • Link titles for all URLs
  • Captions for all prerecorded audio/video content we share online

When we decided to make Givebutter free for everyone, it was because of our belief that cost should never be a barrier for any changemaker in need of world-class fundraising technology to power their mission. But we understand free does not automatically mean fully accessible.

As we grow and work daily to improve the Givebutter experience for all of our users, we will continue to prioritize accessibility and stay informed about new and updated tools and processes so that everybody working to make the world a better place can reach their fundraising goals.

Conformance status

Givebutter consistently audits our accessibility standards and procedures. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities and identify three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

Currently, Givebutter is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard (For example, our donation forms are not yet fully compatible with screen readers).

We know we have a lot to improve, and we are making it a priority to fully apply the relevant accessibility standards in our 2023 roadmap. We look forward to sharing our changes and improvements in that time.
