Frequently asked questions
How long does a migration take?
Most migrations are completed about one week after data access is granted (plus another week if cleanup is needed). That means your team can be up and running much faster than with a typical CRM switch, which can often take months.
What platforms can I switch from?
Magic Migration works with the most popular CRMs and fundraising tools: Bloomerang, Little Green Light, Constant Contact, Mailchimp, Network for Good, and DonorPerfect, with more coming soon, including NeonOne, Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge, Virtuous, and Salesforce.
You can still join the waitlist even if your CRM isn’t supported yet. We’ll let you know if your system is on our roadmap and update you as support becomes available.
What kind of data can be migrated?
We support full CRM migrations, including donor records, contact details, transactions, and notes. However, some data types, such as pledges, file attachments, or auction history, can not be migrated directly at this time.
During the migration assessment, our team will review your current system and confirm exactly what data can be transferred.
Is Magic Migration included or an extra cost?
Magic Migration is available free for qualifying Givebutter customers. Anyone can join the waitlist, and our team will prioritize access based on onboarding needs and eligibility.
Is Magic Migration really hands-off for my team?
Yes—once you provide access to your current CRM, our specialists handle the extraction, mapping, and import. You may need to confirm data mappings, review duplicates, or clean up invalid data, but we do the heavy lifting.
What if I prefer to import data myself?
You can use our self-service import guides and templates to upload contacts, donations, and recurring gifts directly into your dashboard. You’ll still get access to custom fields, segmentation, and 24/7 support to guide you along the way.
