Givebutter celebrates $5B donation milestone

It took Givebutter seven years to reach our first billion dollars in donations. 

Only seven months later, we reached $2B. 

Another seven months have passed, and we’ve more than doubled that amount: Givebutter has powered over $5B for good causes—and counting. 

Kneadless to say, Givebutter is growing. Fast. With no signs of slowing.

We’ve just wrapped up another year of tremendous success, crushing our goals while launching multiple new product lines and closing a $50M funding round

We’re solving major problems for an entire sector. There are 1.8 million nonprofits in the United States, all working to make a difference with limited resources. A few recent promotions and key new hires have me particularly pumped for Givebutter’s future.

Givebutter’s new VP of Engineering, Keith Kirk, is an engineering leader with a history of building and scaling teams in dynamic environments at growth-stage startups like Heap and Classy. Our new VP of Growth, James McNiece, is a growth expert who was a leader in Product and Operations at Squarespace and Dropbox.

And with my co-founder, Liran Cohen, now elevated from CTO to CTPO (Chief Technology Product Officer), Givebutter’s longtime Director of People, Lucy Winterhelder, promoted to VP of People, and our VP of Marketing-turned-VP of Revenue, Matt Carufel, promoted to Chief Revenue Officer, I have a visionary leadership team at my side creating ambitious plans for the future. 

And we’re just getting started. 

In 2025, we are recommitting to the things that make Givebutter the most-loved nonprofit fundraising and CRM platform, creating a world where doing good is easier, more accessible, and more impactful.
