On September 25, thousands of changemakers joined me and the whole Givebutter team for The Spread: A Givebutter Launch Event. It was the very first time we had invited our entire community of nonprofits and partners to a live unveiling of new features, but for news this huge, we knew we had to pull out all the stops.
Big additions to the home for nonprofits
Since launching Givebutter in 2016, my co-founders and I have been working toward our vision of providing a home for nonprofits—one easy, reliable place where you can raise more, pay less, and give better.

The Spread was an exciting opportunity to bring our community together and demonstrate our commitment to continue building on the strong foundation we’ve laid, and we were thrilled to showcase all of the new, free fundraising features we’ve churned out—alongside the major announcement of a new set of tools designed to unlock users’ full fundraising potential: Givebutter Plus.

The biggest reveal at The Spread was a collection of new, game-changing features that have been in development for a while, all rolled into one epic offering.
Givebutter Plus brings together our platform’s free fundraising, marketing, and CRM software—all of the tools nonprofits know and love, plus advanced features that will make you more productive, equip you to make smarter, data-driven decisions, and help you reach more donors than you ever thought possible.

Givebutter Plus is available now with a 30-day free trial, which you can enable in your dashboard—no credit card required. When you're ready, it's easy to add Givebutter Plus to your Givebutter account starting at $29 per month. Your trial will give you time to test out the features and see the impact first-hand Givebutter Plus will have on yourself, your team, and your mission before you make the commitment.
While Givebutter Plus does come with an additional cost, we've done our research to make sure we’re fulfilling our promise to provide those tools in a way that will cost less than other solutions.

At The Spread, we also announced a slew of awesome new features and product improvements, all of which are now live and available for free for every Givebutter user.

Now, Givebutter users can track and manage every pledged donation in one convenient place. Better project and collect your fundraising revenue with seamless payment request links that make it easy for donors to make good on their commitments and for nonprofits to receive payments for corporate sponsorships, matching donations, and other pledged contributions.
Event ticketing upgrades 🎟️
The Givebutter mobile app now enables nonprofits to sell tickets and collect payments with Tap to Pay from any mobile device, streamlining the entire ticketing process, including at-the-door ticket sales, check-ins, and donations.
Plus, ticket bundling (one of our most-requested features) is available for selling ticket blocks, tables, and sponsorship packages for any event.
24/7 support 💛
Earlier this year, our new extended support hours were so well received that we decided to take it to a whole new level unheard of in our industry. Givebutter live support is now available 24/7, including all holidays.
Navigation upgrades 🌍
We’ve also made some exciting improvements to the user dashboard, including the ability to pin campaigns and add quick actions. Plus, with a new global search, users can easily search for any campaign, contact, event, or even a single transaction right from the search bar.
AI text assistant 💡
We know that sometimes the hardest part of writing is just getting started. You’ll now see the ability to use generative AI inside your campaign stories, emails, and letters to help jumpstart your writing process. Not only does our new AI writing companion generate new text, but it can also improve any existing writing—like trimming down the content, changing the tone, or modifying the language.

How much does Givebutter Plus cost?

Will I be charged for contacts in the free Givebutter CRM?
You will never be required to upgrade or pay for contacts in the free Givebutter CRM, so you can add unlimited contacts and enjoy every free CRM feature at no cost. Contact-based pricing applies only to Givebutter Plus subscribers.
What is the threshold for when you’d need to upgrade?
Givebutter Plus is an optional addition to your free Givebutter account. Users will never be required to upgrade to Givebutter Plus, regardless of the number of contacts they have in their free CRM. Givebutter still offers free and unlimited fundraising campaigns, events, emails, nonprofit CRM contacts, and more.

Can I try out Givebutter Plus before I pay for it?
We offer a 30-day free trial of Givebutter Plus that can be started at any time—no credit card required.
Will the free features still be available, or will they move behind a paywall?
At its core, Givebutter will always be a free fundraising platform. Our fundraising features—including donation forms, pages, events, and auctions—will always remain free and we will continue to release new free features and improvements.
The only exception is outbound texting, which is being moved to Givebutter Plus based on changing requirements from our SMS partners and the increased cost associated with them. Moving texting to Givebutter Plus allows us to continue innovating and improving our platform without compromising the quality of service we offer for free. We will not be making any broad, sweeping changes to our free plan, and we’re constantly working to ensure that nonprofits and fundraisers can succeed without barriers.
Alongside Givebutter Plus, we launched pledges, ticket bundling, mobile ticket sales, dashboard improvements, and an AI text assistant—all for free! And this is just the beginning… We already have an extensive roadmap planned for our free fundraising tools, and even more on the way for Givebutter Plus. Stay tuned!
Will Givebutter integrate with financial systems like QuickBooks?
Givebutter currently integrates with QuickBooks through Zapier. We plan to launch a native integration with Quickbooks in 2025. Follow our product roadmap for updates!
Does Givebutter sell user information?
No, we absolutely do not sell user or donor information. Givebutter is committed to protecting your privacy. While we may share limited data to provide essential services like credit card processing, we adhere to the highest security standards.
