Here at Givebutter, Giving Tuesday always brings a joyful anticipation akin to Super Bowl Sunday—only we’re rooting for…everyone! 📣 Giving Tuesday 2024 was our biggest and best yet, and we’ve got all the inspiring details for you here in one place.
Giving Tuesday 2024 by the numbers
Giving Tuesday 2024 was a monumental day for our entire Givebutter community. With $3.6 billion raised on Giving Tuesday globally, we couldn’t be prouder of the incredible changemakers who rallied together to make an impact on such a scale.
On Givebutter, our community took this year’s Giving Tuesday to new heights, raising over $16.4M across 11K campaigns and driving 73K+ donations to support causes near and dear to so many. And when we look at the few days leading up to Giving Tuesday, those numbers skyrocket to $23.8M raised from 111K supporters.
These numbers reflect not just generosity but the power of people coming together for a shared mission of doing good in the world.
Givebutter users weren’t the only ones making history. Our support team went above and beyond to ensure every changemaker had the help they needed on Giving Tuesday, and the results speak for themselves.
With a median response time of 29 seconds and a 98.4% CSAT score, our team proved they’re always ready to lend a hand in times of need.
Givebutter Gives Back just keeps getting better
For the fourth year in a row, Givebutter gave back on Giving Tuesday by supporting five nonprofit campaigns with a total of $25K in matching donations. We received over 2K submissions and saw incredible creativity, passion, and dedication across all campaigns.
Campaigns were selected based on how effectively they shared their mission, demonstrated impact, utilized Givebutter’s fundraising features, and engaged their communities. This year’s recipients truly went above and beyond, and we’re thrilled to share their inspiring stories.
Meet 2024’s most engaging campaigns
Let’s take a closer look at the five campaigns that stood out for their dedication, creativity, and community engagement.
These changemakers not only raised funds but also built powerful connections with their supporters that will help fuel their missions throughout the year.
Icing Smiles 🎂
With a goal of raising $10K, the Icing Smiles Giving Tuesday 2024 campaign included a bright and engaging story section full of graphics and personal stories, a robust peer-to-peer fundraising element, and a featured matching gift from (how perfect) a buttercream frosting company.
The additional matching funds from Givebutter will bring them closer to their goal and further support their mission of creating special memories for children facing critical illnesses and their families.
Boston Dance Studios 💃
To reach their $80K Campaign goal for infrastructure improvements, Boston Dance Studio sold tickets to an in-person popping competition event, had ten peer-to-peer fundraisers bring in donations, and showcased their impact with moving stories, statistics, photos, and videos. The campaign also showcases additional ways for supporters to get involved and help spread the word on social media.
Having completed their initial matching gift from a generous donor that quadrupled donations on Giving Tuesday, BDS will keep the momentum going with Givebutter’s additional $5K match throughout the year-end giving season.
The Diabetes Family Connection 🎉
The Diabetes Family Connection’s Impact Fund 2024 campaign, which spans the last two months of the year, is raising $60K to fund the transformative programs they offer children, families, and adults impacted by Type 1 Diabetes.
Offering supporters a full menu of opportunities to contribute to their fundraising effort, DFC also included a lively team fundraising campaign with enticing incentives, branded graphics, and custom donation descriptions.
Big Paws of the Ozarks 🐾
Give Every Paw a Second Chance has already exceeded its initial goal of $20K thanks to individual donations, a whole spread of matching corporate gifts, and team fundraising led by various local businesses.
With heart-warming before-and-after photos of rescued pets, a supporter feed full of adopted pet pics, and custom donation amounts, the campaign gives supporters a clear picture of how far their gifts will go.
Rock to the Future 🎸
Based in Philadelphia, Rock to the Future is raising $185K to continue providing high-quality music education and economic empowerment programs at no cost for youth in under-resourced communities.
A moving video is the centerpiece of their Be an Instrument for Change 2024 campaign, which also includes impact graphics, youth stories, peer-to-peer fundraising, and a corporate matching donation pledge.
Turning giving into a team sport
The Givebutter team didn’t just watch from the sidelines; we joined the fun, too! As part of our internal giving program, every employee receives a $50 stipend each month to donate to a verified Givebutter campaign of their choice.
On Giving Tuesday, we turned this into a friendly competition, with each department giving back to the most active campaigns throughout the day.
The result? Every employee participated, and together, we contributed $3,300 to some of the day’s most impactful campaigns. 100% participation, 100% giving back—what a way to make an impact!
