Free fundraising at your fingertips

Givebutter fundraising tools remain free (forever!) by giving donors the option to make a contribution (we call it a "tip") to Givebutter during the payment process. Tips are completely optional and can be enabled or disabled at any time by any account admin for any campaign. Even if a donor chooses not to tip, your organization won’t be charged.

If you prefer to turn off tips, a small platform fee applies based on the campaign type:

• 1% for donation forms
• 3% for fundraising pages
• 5% for events and auctions

Additionally, Givebutter’s secure payment processor charges 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction for all payment methods (reduced to 1.9% for ACH), and all pledge transactions have a 1.5% fee applied. You can ask donors to cover these fees, which 95% of them choose to do!

In fact, the average Givebutter campaign keeps 99.5% of all funds raised since most donors cover fees and Givebutter is free to use. That means for every $1,000 raised, $995 goes to your mission.

In the rare event that a donor decides not to cover their fee, it is deducted from their full donation amount, so your organization never has to pay anything out of pocket.

You will never be required to pay for contacts in the free Givebutter CRM. Contact-based pricing applies only to Givebutter Plus subscribers. You will also never be required to upgrade your free account to Givebutter Plus, regardless of the number of contacts you have. Givebutter Plus is an optional addition to your free Givebutter account.

Yes, Givebutter Plus has all of the the same options for donor tipping, platform fees, and payment processing fees.

You can cancel your Givebutter Plus plan from your dashboard at any time. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period, so you will continue to have access until then.
