Make more possible this Giving Tuesday

Any verified nonprofit that raises online donations through Givebutter during the Giving Tuesday match window (December 1 at 12:00 AM ET through December 2 at 5:59 AM ET) and has Givebutter Wallet set as its primary payout method is eligible. Wallet must remain your primary payout method until your match arrives.

This includes donations made through fundraising pages, donation forms, events, auctions, and peer-to-peer campaigns. Offline gifts, cash donations, checks, and funds transferred from outside Givebutter aren't eligible for the match.

No separate application required! Just make sure your nonprofit is verified and Givebutter Wallet is set as your primary payout method during the Giving Tuesday match window. Keep Wallet as your primary payout method until your matching funds arrive.

If you’re an existing Givebutter user: Verify your nonprofit (if you haven't already) and set Wallet as your primary payout method. Once Wallet is your primary payout method, eligible donations will settle directly into Wallet.

If you’re already using Wallet as your primary payout method: If your nonprofit is verified, you're automatically enrolled—no extra steps required. Just start raising funds (and having fun!) on Giving Tuesday.

Your match is 1% of your eligible online donations made during the Giving Tuesday match window, not your entire campaign total. Offline donations, including cash and checks entered manually, don't count toward the match.

For example, if your organization raises $4,200 in qualifying online donations, you'll receive a $42 match from Givebutter.

Givebutter will begin adding matching funds directly to eligible Givebutter Wallets starting on December 11, 2026. Matches may not appear immediately that day, but you'll receive an email with your match amount once it arrives. You can also find it in Wallet as “Giving Tuesday 2026 Match Reward.”

Keep Wallet as your primary payout method until you receive your match.

No problem! Your campaign can start before or continue after Giving Tuesday. Only eligible online donations made during the match window (December 1 at 12:00 AM ET through December 2 at 5:59 AM ET) qualify for the 1% match.

Donations made outside that window still count toward your campaign, but they won't be matched.

No! Once your eligible Giving Tuesday donations reach Wallet, you can withdraw, transfer, or spend those funds without affecting your 1% match. Just keep Wallet set as your primary payout method until your matching funds arrive.

While your funds are in Wallet, they can also earn <span interest-rate-element="sync">2.5%</span> APY rewards!

If your nonprofit is verified but you didn't have Wallet or hadn't completed setup during the Giving Tuesday match window, you may still qualify for the 1% match through our Second Chance Match.

Keep an eye out for an email from Givebutter after Giving Tuesday. To qualify, you'll need to finish setting up Wallet and have your eligible Giving Tuesday donations moved into Wallet by December 10, 2026.

Donations already paid out to an external bank account can't be transferred back into Wallet to qualify.

No. Givebutter's 1% Giving Tuesday match is added directly to your Givebutter Wallet after Giving Tuesday, not to your campaign's fundraising total.
